HGH for weight loss – Can a natural hormone promote growth and development to be a true dieter’s dream? The quest for an easier weight loss solution has some people taking human growth hormone (HGH) in pills, powders, and injections.
Some small studies have linked the injection of growth hormone with fat loss and muscle gain. However, the changes observed were insignificant–only a few pounds–while the risks and potential side effects were not. Experts warn that growth hormone is not supported by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for weight loss.
How the Growth hormone works
Growth hormone is produced by the pituitary gland for fuel growth and development in children. It as well maintains some bodily functions, like tissue repair, muscle growth, brain operate, energy, and metabolism, throughout life.
E The peaks of production during the teenage years and slowly decrease with age. Studies have shown that adults suffer from excessive obesity with lower levels of natural weight than adults. These lower levels of growth hormone have some people wondering whether a boost of HGH can enhance weight loss, especially in obesity
As the growth hormone has gained its reputation as a muscular muscle, its use is banned in the Olympics and other sports games. However, there is little strong evidence that can enhance mathematical performance.
Early study sparks interest in growth hormone
The interest in using the growth hormone to lose weight stems from the 1990 New England Journal of Medicine study that showed injections of artificial growth hormone resulted from about 8.8% increase in muscle mass and loss of 14% in body fat without any change in diet or exercise. Although this study looks promising, many of the studies carried out at a later date have shown no such benefit.
On March March 2003, the geographical region Journal of medication took an unprecedented step in inculpatory the misuse of the 1990 study, noting that succeeding reports failed to provide cause for optimism.
Despite this, this study is still used in 1990 to enhance the Internet sales of the growth hormone for weight loss.
Small changes, but no weight loss
When adults are given the deficiency of the growth hormone caused by the pituitary gland replacement, it improves body formation-increase bone mass, muscle mass, and low-fat stores.
But it does not cause weight loss in obesity, says Nicholas Tretos, D, who co-authored the analysis of the efficacy of the growth hormone to lose weight in people suffering from excessive obesity.
“Our results showed small improvements in body composition, a slight decrease in body fat and an increase in muscle mass, but in balance, weight has not changed,” he says. “More pronounced changes are seen when the individual is a deficiency in the growth hormone of the real pituitary gland.”
Another study found that the treatment is associated with a small decrease in fat and an increase in lean mass, but no change in body weight. The researchers concluded that growth hormone is not an effective remedy for obese people, and they say that further studies are needed.

Contraceptive pills and powders: risky and expensive
Growth hormone comes in form by injection, usually given once a week, and is only available with a doctor’s prescription. The injection of growth hormone is approved to treat adults and children with developmental hormone deficiency, for people who undergo organ transplants, and the infection of AIDS-related muscles.
Growth Hormone marketing companies and powders claim their products produce the same effects as in injection form. But Tritos warns that growth hormone is effective only when injected.
“Growth hormone is a protein that will get broken in the stomach unless it is injected,” he says. “Moreover, any medication that has not been tested or approved by the FDA is risky because it is unknown and not necessarily safe, pure, sterile, or advertised.”
FDA has not agreed to lose weight for several reasons, including cost (about $1000 per month), potential aggravation of insulin resistance and other side effects, and lack of long-term safety studies.
Healthy adults, UN agency eat the expansion secretion place themselves in danger for joints and muscle pain, swelling of the arms and legs, carpal tunnel syndrome, and hypoglycemic agent resistance. In the elderly, these symptoms are more profound.
Using growth hormone for weight loss, muscle building, or anti-aging experimental and controversial. The injection is believed to reduce fat storage and increase muscle growth somewhat, however, studies haven’t shown this to be safe or effective weight loss treatment.
Even further research can prove the long-term viability and efficacy of using HGH to lose weight, it is wise to avoid it.
